Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

WELCOME ABOARDThis is a featured page

For the independent-minded and free spirits . . .

Do you feel boxed in? Suffocated by rules? Restricted by borders?

The World Beyond invites you to discover places you've not yet been. Tell others about your own explorations beyond past boundaries. And share the pain that comes with being an "outsider." The blue skies beckon -- and the darkness too.

For anyone who has already "left home" . . .

The world is full of people who have crossed borders, who have found a new place where they feel more at home or who are just beginning the task of redefining themselves.

It can be a lonely task. It can be a new life full of frustration.

phmx IN MEMORIAM: Bobby Kennedy, who was killed 40 years ago 0 Jun 1 2008, 9:33 AM EDT by phmx
Thread started: Jun 1 2008, 9:33 AM EDT  Watch
I've just watched a touching account about Sen. Bobby Kennedy on CBS Sunday Morning, the segment produced by his former speechwriter Jeff Greenberg. Jeff reminded me of the Kennedy statement that had most impressed back at that former time:

"Some people see what is, and ask why. I see what has never been, and ask, why not?"

It's fitting that this website has bubbled up to the surface this very week. And I'm beginning, after just a few days, to realize that I'm getting back into touch with my former spirit, which so sadly died forty years ago in that tumultuous year of 1968. That was the year I simply "dropped out." I never voted since then until 2004. That was the year when I first spent a lot of effort looking, in so many different ways, for "another place" in this world.

Perhaps my perspective on life is finally re-emerging as a response to the campaign of Barack Obama. Maybe this time, the story will not end in profound disappointment.
    Do you find this valuable?
